Mid Autumn Festival

MCEE, and its partners, are looking to bring back the Mid Autumn Festival to Milpitas. This is a very popular event around the Bay Area, and we’d like to see it have a home in Milpitas. The goal of the event is to bring the community together for a celebration of the Harvest Festival, which is celebrated by many Asian cultures (Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, etc.) while providing the local community key information from the city and county offices.

We plan to invite key community groups (Milpitas Police Department, Milpitas Fire Department, Santa Clara County – Milpitas Library, Valley Water, Family Giving Tree, Family Resource Centers, and many others). Our partnerships include the Milpitas Unified School District, and hopefully, the San Jose City College, Milpitas Extension.

We plan to offer local artisans booths to sell their local arts and crafts, local offices of our public officials to provide information to their constituents, and have performances representing the diversity in our community (Chinese YoYos, Vietnamese dancing & music, Indian Bollywood dancing, Ballet Folklorico Milpitas, Filipino folk dance, etc.). We will utilize food trucks (with diverse food choices) and end the event with a dragon dance. There also will be arts and craft activities for the kids.
