Monday through Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
by appointment only for pick up and return of tools
Call 586-3074 to expedite your request.
A wide variety of hand and gardening tools are available: wheel
barrows, ladders, shovels, brooms, hammers, push lawn mowers,
extension cords, tree pruners, an edger, etc. ... but nothing
motorized.
Milpitas residents, businesses, property owners and community
groups may borrow these tools FREE of charge!
- Bring a picture ID and a bill that shows you are a home owner
or renter in Milpitas.
- Fill out an application.
- Check out up to 5 tools.
- Tools due back one week from day borrowed.
Located at: 1263 Yosemite Drive
(Behind Fire Station #2 - corner of Park Victoria & Yosemite
Drive)
Come by and visit us! Do call for an appointment on weekdays,
as the firefighters do not operate the tool loan program and
cannot help you. I realize that the number I give and the one

The California Landscape Garden
Ecology, Culture, and Design
by Mark Francis and Andreas Reimann
The beauty, resources, and natural processes of the California
landscape are brought to the home garden in Mark Francis and
Andreas Reimann's fine testament to ecological gardening. The
authors connect history, culture, region, and design to help
us understand how California and its human population have evolved
historically and how individuals today can make a difference
in the state's future in their own backyards. 1999 Hardcover.

Western Garden Book
Sunset Magazine's "Bible" for western gardeners. New in the 2007 edition: new, easy-to-read design, more plant photography, larger illustrations, and more than 8,000 plant listings--500 of them new--it's THE essential book for gardeners in the Western states. What plants to grow, how to nurture them, and where they do the very best--it's all here.
- Sunset
Magazine
- This would be great for someone new to the
west who needs ideas about where to go and what will grow in
their garden. For native westerners, it always offers fresh ideas.
